Find Your Colors.
Spring, summer, autumn, or winter? How to find your color season, what to wear for it, and how it plays under club lights.
Some colors make your skin glow, your eyes pop, and your whole face look awake. Others wash you out and make you look tired, even on a good night. Color analysis sorts everyone into four seasons so you can stop guessing. Once you know yours, shopping gets easier, your sets all go together, and you walk out looking like you, only better.
The short version: figure out if your undertone is warm or cool, then if your look is light and soft or deep and high contrast. Warm and light is Spring. Cool and soft is Summer. Warm and deep is Autumn. Cool and high contrast is Winter. Build your rotation around your season's colors.
Step One
Warm or cool?
Your undertone is the color under your skin, and it doesn't change with a tan. Do these in natural daylight with no makeup on.
- The vein check. Look at the inside of your wrist. Greenish veins lean warm. Blue or purple veins lean cool. Can't tell? You might be neutral.
- Gold or silver. Hold gold jewelry, then silver, up to your face. If gold makes you glow, you're warm. If silver does, you're cool.
- White or cream. Hold a stark white shirt, then a cream one, under your chin. Stark white loves cool skin. Cream loves warm skin.
- The sun test. If you tan easily and go golden, you probably lean warm. If you burn and go pink first, you probably lean cool.
Step Two
Soft or high contrast?
Now look at your hair, skin, and eyes together. If they're close in depth (light hair, light skin, light eyes, or everything medium and blended), your look is soft. If there's a big jump between them (dark hair with light skin, or very dark eyes with bright whites), your look is high contrast.
Easy trick: take a selfie and switch it to black and white. If everything blends into the same gray, you're soft. If your hair and eyes jump off your skin, you're high contrast.
The Four Seasons
Find your season.
Put your two answers together and you'll land in one of these. Most people see themselves in one right away.
🌷 Spring
Warm + light and bright
Wear: coral, peach, warm pink, golden yellow, apple green, turquoise.
Skip: black and heavy dark colors. They sit on top of you instead of working with you.
🌊 Summer
Cool + soft
Wear: baby pink, lavender, powder blue, soft teal, dusty rose, lilac.
Skip: orange and loud neons. They can overpower you.
🍂 Autumn
Warm + deep and rich
Wear: rust, mustard, olive, burgundy, deep teal, gold.
Skip: icy pastels and stark white. Go cream or champagne instead.
❄️ Winter
Cool + high contrast
Wear: black, pure white, true red, royal blue, hot pink, emerald.
Skip: muddy browns and dusty colors. They dull you down.
Stuck between two? That's normal. Plenty of girls are a mix, like a warm Summer or a soft Autumn. Wear the colors from both lists that look best in the mirror and skip the rest.
After Dark
Your season under club lights.
Color analysis is done in daylight, and the club is anything but. Your season still matters up close on the floor, where customers actually see your face. On stage, lighting changes the game.
- Blacklight: white and neons glow no matter your season. If neons wash you out, wear them on your set, not near your face.
- Dim floor lighting: this is where your season wins. Your best colors near your face make you look glowing in low light.
- Rhinestones and holo: they reflect whatever light hits them, so they work on everyone. Pick the base color from your season.
Build your rotation around it: pick two or three colors from your season and buy in those. Every top matches every thong, and you'll never grab a set that washes you out. More on building a rotation in our wardrobe on a budget guide.

Color questions, answered.
How do I find my color season?
Figure out your undertone (warm or cool) with the vein, jewelry, and white vs. cream tests, then decide if your look is soft or high contrast. Warm and light is Spring, cool and soft is Summer, warm and deep is Autumn, and cool and high contrast is Winter.
What are the four color seasons?
Spring (warm, light, bright), Summer (cool, soft), Autumn (warm, deep, rich), and Winter (cool, high contrast). Each season has a palette of colors that flatter it.
Can my color season change with a tan or new hair color?
Your undertone stays the same, but a big hair change or a deep tan can shift your contrast. If you go from blonde to jet black, check your colors again.
What if I'm between two seasons?
That's common. Wear the colors from both palettes that look best on you in the mirror and skip the ones that wash you out.
Do color seasons matter under club lighting?
Yes, especially on the floor where lighting is dim and customers see your face up close. On stage under blacklight, white and neons glow on everyone, so wear them on your set instead of near your face if they wash you out.
What color looks good on everyone?
Rhinestones and holographic finishes work on almost everyone because they reflect the light around them. For solid colors, soft teal, true red, and medium pink tend to flatter the most people.
